Position Objective

The Director of Global Operations provides both strategic and hands-on leadership across multiple Ingersoll Rand sites that manufacture diaphragm, piston, gear, centrifugal, and condensate pumps under the ARO, MP Pumps, Oberdorfer, Ingersoll Rand pumps, and Hartell brands. This role has primary operational responsibility for two key locations: the Mooresville Solution Center in North Carolina and the Ilkeston, UK manufacturing facility.

In addition to these primary sites, the Director of Global Operations supports several other locations through indirect operational leadership, including the Charlotte Distribution and Logistics Center (DLC), the Tongeren, Belgium distribution center the Southern Pines, NC manufacturing facility, the Alsip, IL manufacturing center, and global sites in Chennai, India; Guilin, China; and Surendranagar, India. The operations leader will lead a business transformation team focused on ERP enhancements and lean disciplines. The leader will sit on the Fluid Transfer Technologies leadership team and lead the business unit in strategic business case decisions. This role will drive large projects with substantial impact on the P&L of the business unit and interact with key leaders in other Ingersoll Rand business units as well as corporate level functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage operations leadership team capable of carrying out operations strategies while improving employee relations and retention.
  • Assure master production schedule is coordinated with all support departments and integrated with the overall company's transaction/volume expectations.
  • Oversee operations budget and work with Finance Controllers to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
  • Set and achieve monthly SQDIP performance targets and use KPIs to evaluate performance.
  • Lead deployment of visual management, A3 problem solving, Standard Work, Kaizen, and 5S.
  • Harmonize operational systems across sites and support implementation of SAP and Oracle.
  • Enhance the overall supply chain of the global business flow.
  • Drive supplier engagements and supplier scorecard improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Interprets and administers company policies and/or union contracts as they apply to department/area activities.
  • Drive safety and engagement improvements.
  • Ensure operations support growth initiatives.

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or related field.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Lean systems experience preferred.
  • ERP experience (Oracle 11i or SAP).
  • Site leadership experience.
  • Global leadership exposure.

Preferences

  • Familiarity with industrial equipment design, assembly, maintenance, production, or manufacturing type environment.
  • Experience with project/program management.
  • Experience with low volume / high customization products.

Work Environment and Travel

This role is on-site at the Mooresville solution center with regular presence and periodic travel to other Ingersoll Rand manufacturing locations. Travel up to 20%.
