We are looking for a strong design talent, who is motivated to develop and evolve the product offer. The ideal candidate has strong technical experience, a sophisticated taste level, demonstrated experience in the category and highly collaborative work style.

Role Summary

This role serves as a senior design lead across denim and woven categories, responsible for executing seasonal concepts from initial direction through final product. From bottoms to jackets, this is the foundation of the Citizens of Humanity women's brand. Working in close partnership with the Creative Director, this role will help translate overarching creative vision into product, ensuring consistency, innovation, and a strong point of view across categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop design concept, directional fit and silhouettes, fabric and wash direction for complete product range
  • Translate overall seasonal direction to complete product range, and covetable directional products from fit to trim development, Oversee all aspects of design and product from concept to production fit
  • Review and approve samples to ensure design integrity through production
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in materials, washes, and responsible practices
  • Partner with Sales/Merchandising lead to ensure product range meets business goals
  • Work closely with Product Development and Sourcing on execution, costing, and calendar

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience in denim and woven design
  • Strong expertise in denim construction, washes, and fabric development
  • Experience leading or mentoring design teams
  • Strong creative eye with a refined understanding of proportion, fabric, and detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience across wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses preferred
  • Familiarity with responsible sourcing and sustainable design practices preferred
  • Experience working with global mills and sourcing partners preferred
