Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a Digital Content Specialist who possesses the ability to think both creatively and analytically, with demonstrable creative writing and social media content skills.
The ideal candidate will possess the craft of developing content that not only engages and motivates our customers as they navigate through their healthcare digital journey, but also inspires and draws them to our Methodist Healthcare brand. In other words, you are the editor and creator who is responsible for writing, editing, proofreading and formulating content strategies to ensure customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience. Content is defined and covers multimedia channels such as blog posts, social media, search, images and videos that aid in fostering engagement online.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field
Experience:
2+ years minimum experience with content writing and development, or similar role in an agency
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platform
Knowledgeable with Social platforms, SEO strategies, CMS and HTML
Experience with online reputation management
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Essential Job Functions
Create, proofread and publish engaging content, as well as be responsible for the style and voice of all content – digital and traditional
Analyze and optimize content performance across all digital platforms
Optimize content according to SEO
Manage the posting, reviews and overall reputation management process across our social media channels
Understand legal, regulatory environment and experience within a highly controlled environment
Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics
Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic
Build a following on social media through rich content
Determine which stories make it into the publication line‑up, aligning with short‑term and long‑term marketing targets
Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop site content, style and layout
