Purchasing Agent

Salary: $$75-100k – commensurate with experience

Location: Fully onsite in West Haven

Key Responsibilities of Purchasing Agent:

• Source parts from domestic and international suppliers
• Evaluate vendors on price, quality, lead time, and reliability
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and volume agreements
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance
• Track tariffs, duties, and landed costs (Section 232 steel tariffs are an active consideration)
• Coordinate logistics, customs, and inbound freight
• Work closely with our service and parts teams to forecast demand

Preferred Experience of Purchasing Agent:

• Proven purchasing experience, ideally in heavy equipment, truck parts, or a related industrial sector
• Established relationships with overseas manufacturers a strong plus
• Working knowledge of import/export, customs, and international trade
• Strong negotiation skills and a sharp eye on total landed cost
• Comfortable in a family-business environment — direct, collaborative, and fast-moving
