Overview We are seeking a Trade Data Consultant with strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations, customs systems, and data analytics to support compliance, reporting, and strategic initiatives for a global consulting client.
Key Responsibilities
Support trade compliance activities by leveraging knowledge of the U.S. Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), with an emphasis on Entry Summary and Reporting modules.
Analyze and interpret U.S. tariff classifications, including supplemental and reciprocal tariffs (e.g., Section 232) and provisions under Chapter 99, Subchapter III of the HTSUS.
Manage, clean, and transform trade datasets to support compliance, audits, and advisory engagements.
Build reports and visualizations that summarize complex trade and tariff data for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with consulting teams to design solutions that integrate trade knowledge with data engineering, wrangling, and analytics.
Required Qualifications
Familiarity with ACE system, particularly Entry Summary and Reporting modules.
Knowledge of supplemental tariffs, reciprocal tariffs, and HTSUS Chapter 99 (Subchapter III) provisions.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF/COUNTIF, and dataset manipulation.
Data wrangling.
Data engineering.
Data visualization.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., SORT, FILTER, UNIQUE array functions).
Alteryx.
Microsoft Power Platform (Power Query, Power BI, Power Apps) or equivalent.
Tableau.
SQL.
Python, R, VBA, etc.
