Director / AVP – LIHTC Financial Closeout & Capital Management

About the Opportunity:

A growing, mission-driven affordable housing developer is seeking a senior finance leader to take ownership of the final and most critical phase of the development lifecycle —financial closeout and tax credit execution.

This role sits at the intersection of development, finance, and investor relations, ensuring projects are fully maximized, compliant, and successfully converted. You’ll have direct visibility with leadership and play a key role in protecting and enhancing project value across a national portfolio.

What You’ll Own

• Lead end-to-end LIHTC project closeouts , including cost certifications and final allocations
• Drive the IRS Form 8609 process from preparation through issuance
• Oversee equity installments, adjusters, and investor funding milestones
• Manage permanent loan conversions and coordinate across lenders, investors, and agencies
• Act as the point person for CPAs, syndicators, and housing authorities
• Identify opportunities to maximize eligible basis and tax credit yield
• Establish and refine internal processes, controls, and reporting standards

What They’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in LIHTC finance, affordable housing development, or real estate accounting
• Proven ownership of cost certifications and 8609 execution (not just support)
• Strong understanding of eligible basis, partnership structures, and equity mechanics
• Experience working with investors, lenders, HFAs, and external auditors
• CPA or public accounting background is a strong plus
