Food Services Director
Full-Time | Exempt | Department Head
We are seeking an experienced and organized Food Services Director to lead all nutritional and food service operations within the facility. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, resident-centered dining services while ensuring regulatory compliance, food safety, and operational efficiency.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who values quality, accountability, and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, direct, and oversee all food and nutritional services operations
Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, physician orders, and resident preferences
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards
Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and menus
Coordinate food services with nursing, activities, environmental services, and administration
Lead meal service rounds and engage with residents and families
Oversee inventory, ordering, budgeting, and cost controls
Ensure proper documentation, MSDS compliance, and infection control practices
Recruit, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline food services staff
Participate in quality assurance, survey readiness, audits, and plans of correction
Lead departmental meetings and ongoing staff training
Qualifications
Prior food services leadership experience required
Healthcare or long‑term care experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of therapeutic diets, sanitation, and food safety standards
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Commitment to quality, safety, and resident satisfaction
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, and working in kitchen and dining environments
Ability to lift supplies and operate kitchen equipment
Exposure to heat, cleaning chemicals, and food service environments
