OCI Cloud Architect

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions, with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

This role will also leverage strong experience in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, particularly within Federal, State, and Local Government environments.

This position will play a key role in cloud architecture, migrations, and modernization of enterprise workloads, including Oracle-based systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement cloud architectures with a primary focus on OCI, while supporting multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure) Lead migrations from on-premises and other cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) to OCI Architect highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery solutions across cloud platforms Implement security best practices aligned to public sector standards (IAM, encryption, key management, zero trust) Architect compute, storage, and database solutions (including Oracle workloads such as Autonomous DB and Exadata) Define governance models, landing zones, and cloud operating frameworks Collaborate with DBAs, application teams, security teams, and stakeholders Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) across OCI and other cloud platforms Monitor and optimize performance, availability, and cloud spend (FinOps) Provide technical leadership and guidance across delivery and pre-sales efforts Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or infrastructure engineering Hands-on experience with OCI (preferred) and/or strong experience in AWS and/or Azure Experience designing solutions in public sector environments (Federal, State, or Local Government) Strong knowledge of:

Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity (VPN, private connectivity) Identity and access management across cloud platforms Cloud security and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA) High availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity

Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools Experience with Linux and enterprise application workloads Strong communication and documentation skills Nice to Have

Oracle Cloud certifications (OCI Architect Associate/Professional) AWS or Azure certifications (Solutions Architect, etc.) Experience with Oracle technologies (RAC, Data Guard, Autonomous Database) Experience migrating workloads from AWS/Azure to OCI Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures Kubernetes/container platforms (OKE, EKS, AKS) FinOps / cloud cost optimization experience Scripting (Python, Bash) Experience supporting SaaS platforms (Oracle ERP, HCM, Fusion)
