Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison - Southeast/South Atlantic/LA

Position Overview The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with key HCP partners and influential individuals within Hematology/Oncology. Primary duties include researching potential KOLs in both academic and community settings, developing engagement strategies, negotiating partnership terms, tracking campaign performance, and maintaining ongoing communication with key influencers.

Key Responsibilities

KOL Identification and Recruitment

Contribute to the development of engagement strategy for the assigned region and execute to optimize results.

Research and identify relevant Key Opinion Leaders based on audience reach, credibility, and alignment with brand values.

Conduct thorough evaluations to ensure KOL suitability for collaborations.

Initiate contact with potential KOLs and pitch partnership opportunities.

Relationship Building and Management

Establish strong, authentic relationships with KOLs through regular communication and engagement.

Understand KOL needs, interests, and audience demographics to tailor collaboration strategies.

Provide KOLs with necessary information, demo samples, or materials to facilitate effective content evaluation and/or creation.

Collaborate with Sales to fortify HCP relationships with PharmaEssentia.

Commercial Insight Gathering

Lead one-on-one engagements, small group meetings, national and regional advisory boards, and steering committees to gather actionable information.

Monitor competitive landscape, treatment protocols, and market trends, report findings and provide actionable recommendations.

Collaboration Across Marketing Team

Support and manage commercial advisory boards and steering committees.

Develop targeted P2P marketing material aligned with brand objectives.

Review P2P content to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and messaging.

Provide input for Speaker Bureau development, training, etc.

Lead KOL engagement at key congress meetings.

Manage KOLs for internal meetings and external events.

Performance Measurement and Reporting

Track key performance indicators such as reach, engagement, conversions, and brand mentions across P2P campaigns.

Monitor campaign progress and adjust as needed to optimize results.

Analyze campaign data to identify successes and areas for improvement, generating comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

BS/BA or equivalent, preferably in Marketing, Science, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales and/or marketing experience.

Hematology/Oncology experience required.

Strong scientific and business acumen with the ability to leverage industry knowledge for long‑term customer benefits.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with KOLs.

Analytical skills to evaluate campaign performance and identify trends.

Creative thinking to develop engaging P2P collaboration concepts.

Knowledge of industry trends and target audience demographics.

Team player with the ability to work independently and influence across teams.

Self‑starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑demand environment.

Strong strategic, tactical planning, project management, communication, and organization skills.

Understanding of compliance environment for pharmaceutical promotions.

Flexibility to travel 50‑70% of the time, including occasional evenings and weekends.

The role requires the candidate to live near a major airport.

The expected base salary range for this position is $185,000 to $215,000, with additional short‑term and long‑term incentive opportunities. Benefits include a competitive package as outlined below.
