Jacobs seeks a Graphic Designer to be a proactive team player, excited and ready to engage on a multitude of projects in a fast‑paced environment for our Buildings & Infrastructure Americas team, focusing on the design and development of proposals and supporting graphics, presentations, and positioning materials—from concept to completion. Your work includes conceptualizing, designing, and developing graphics and other content to inform and engage the intended audience. You'll possess design aptitude, as well as an educated understanding of design process, principles, and production techniques. This role requires proven technical skills and expertise in developing and executing creative solutions using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint) to deliver in a variety of print and digital formats. You'll need excellent communication skills, flexibility, and self‑motivation to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Lead strategic graphic design solutions to support the production of winning proposals, sales materials, and presentations—including long document layouts, PowerPoint presentations, storyboards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, interactive PDFs, ads, and digital media.
Plan, conceptualize, and design compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen messaging.
Convey complex ideas with smart graphic designs and develop concepts visually beyond bullet points.
Interpret and convert technical data and conceptual content into accessible and visually appealing information.
Understand and follow graphic design methods, tools, and Jacobs procedures; offer suggestions to improve processes, tools, and best practices.
Coordinate and provide production and vendor support for submittals and interview external vendors as needed on printing requirements.
Proof work to ensure quality control.
Coordinate and collaborate with team members in remote locations across different time zones.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 to 10 years of professional graphic design experience.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related discipline from a four‑year institution, or an associate’s degree with relative professional experience in lieu of a four‑year degree.
Flexibility in working hours to align with peers in North America; willingness to work overtime hours and over weekends as needed for deadline‑driven assignments.
Demonstrated knowledge of design procedures and technical concepts; understanding of what constitutes good design and ability to apply layout, typography, graphics, and images to produce highly effective visual communications.
At the time of application, provide either a portfolio link or PDF samples of work that highlight skills in layout, graphics, and presentation.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Architecture/Engineering, Construction, and/or proposal and sales.
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Microsoft PowerPoint; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience with additional creative, visual, interactive, and multimedia tools.
