Senior Tax Manager

I’m currently partnering with a well-established boutique CPA firm based in Clifton, NJ , that provides high-quality tax, accounting, and advisory services to individuals and small-to-medium-sized businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Manager (CPA) who’s looking to step into a leadership role within a close-knit, supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of public accounting experience , a deep understanding of federal and state tax laws , and strong leadership skills to help guide both clients and junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Review and sign off on complex federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Conduct tax research and stay up to date on ever-changing tax regulations.
• Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients to help minimise liabilities and optimise financial outcomes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members while promoting a collaborative work culture.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships , ensuring exceptional service and timely communication.
• Partner with firm leadership to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and support business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license (not required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Taxation (MST) preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in public accounting , with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in tax preparation and research software (UltraTax, CCH, ProSeries, or similar).
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and client management skills.
• Must be based in or near Clifton, NJ and available to work on-site.
