
Head of Tax

We’re partnering with a global, market‑leading organization to identify a Head of Tax to lead the full income tax function across the United States and Canada. This is a high‑impact, strategic leadership role with visibility across executive leadership and international operations.
You’ll own tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning across North America, while partnering closely with global tax leadership and cross‑functional teams. If you’re looking for a role where you can influence business decisions, drive strategy, and lead at scale , this is it.
What You’ll Own
- Lead all aspects of U.S. and Canadian income tax operations, including planning, compliance, reporting, and audits
- Serve as a strategic advisor on complex tax matters (GILTI, FDII, BEAT, IRC 385 & 163(j), tax treaties, M&A, restructuring)
- Proactively identify emerging tax risks and opportunities and communicate impact to senior leadership
- Align tax strategy with broader business objectives and growth initiatives
Compliance, Reporting & Tax Accounting
- Oversee all direct and indirect tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage external advisors and outsourced providers
- Lead quarterly and annual tax provision, including uncertain tax positions (IFRIC 23 / IAS 12)
- Partner with external auditors to support efficient reporting cycles
- Oversee sales & use tax, unclaimed property, and R&D tax credit processes
International Tax & Transfer Pricing
- Drive international tax planning, including cross‑border structuring, foreign tax credits, and repatriation strategies
- Lead transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and benchmarking
- Advise on intercompany transactions and global cash movements
- Lead U.S. federal, state, and Canadian audits and controversy matters
- Establish and maintain SOX‑compliant tax controls and processes
- Oversee technical tax research and executive‑level reporting
- Translate complex tax concepts into clear, actionable insights for business leaders
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or Master’s in Tax preferred
- 12+ years of experience across public accounting and multinational corporate tax
- Deep expertise in U.S. and international tax within a global organization
- Strong background in cross‑border transactions and international tax planning
- Proven experience managing audits and tax controversy
- Track record of leading multi‑country tax functions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in consumer products or manufacturing environments preferred
- Willingness to travel internationally
