Position Summary

The firm is seeking a highly driven Investment Banking Director (Generalist) with proven originating capabilities and deep middle‑market relationships. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and can spearhead transaction origination across their industry.

Key Responsibilities

Origination & Business Development

  • Source new M&A, capital raising, and advisory opportunities across their industry
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, private equity firms, lenders, attorneys, accountants, and other referral partners
  • Lead pitch development and present strategic recommendations to prospective clients
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact on engagements
  • Oversee execution of buy‑side, sell‑side, and capital raise transactions
  • Manage communications and negotiations with counterparties, investors, and transaction stakeholders
  • Coordinate due diligence, data room management, and deal process workflow

Technical & Analytical Oversight

  • Guide and review financial modeling, valuation analyses, and strategic assessments
  • Oversee junior team members and ensure high‑quality deliverables
  • Drive process discipline to ensure timely execution and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, market positioning, and internal practice growth
  • Serve as a mentor and leader within the team, supporting talent development

Qualifications

  • 8‑15+ years of investment banking, financial advisory, private equity, or related transactional experience
  • Demonstrated track record of deal origination and ability to bring in new engagements
  • Strong network within middle‑market business owners, PE firms, lenders, or professional services firms
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client‑facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, capital markets, and deal structuring
  • FINRA licensing (Series 7 & 79) preferred or willingness to obtain
