Position Summary We believe transportation is more than movement—it is the foundation of connected, thriving communities. As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you will help shape systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will support economic vitality, public safety, sustainability, resilience, and quality of life by designing resilient highways, iconic bridges, advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports, and marine infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide pre‑negotiation due diligence and negotiate the acquisition of rights, land, and relocation for public or private projects.

Coordinate right‑of‑way and utility issues for assigned clients.

Support real‑property projects—including property assessments, risk analysis, acquisition of rights, occupant relocation, property management, construction coordination, and utility relocation/coordination.

Perform additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

AA degree or equivalent experience.

Real estate license in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law.

Experience with database and GIS tools.

Local candidates preferred.

Required Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in real estate, right‑of‑way, title, utility coordination, relocation, or property management.

Ability to work independently, communicate and document effectively, manage large volumes of work, and coordinate closely with management; willingness to travel.

Knowledge of federal, state, and industry laws and regulations, including FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, NEPA, FERC, and the Uniform Relocation Act.

Strong client‑and‑property‑owner engagement skills.

Capacity to balance office and field work in a collaborative, deadline‑sensitive environment.

Proficiency with standard technology tools such as Microsoft Office and Project.

Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and flexible‑hours aptitude.

Effective coordination with management.
