Lead Sales Engineer -Medium Voltage Electrical Power
Role Overview
The Lead Sales Engineer serves as a senior technical authority and strategic partner within critical power infrastructure markets. This role is designed for experienced power systems professionals who operate at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy, and customer engagement.
You will lead the technical direction of complex transformer solutions supporting hyperscale data centers, renewable energy projects, and mission-critical industrial applications. Acting as both a trusted advisor to customers and a technical leader internally, you will influence design, modernization, and lifecycle strategies across new equipment, retrofits, and second-life transformer programs.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Technical Sales Leadership
Own the technical strategy for high-value pursuits across data centers, renewable energy (solar/wind), and industrial power systems
Lead technical engagement with customers, EPCs, and consultants—shaping specifications and influencing design decisions
Translate RFQs, single-line diagrams, and system requirements into optimized, compliant, and competitive solutions
Present and defend technical proposals to stakeholders ranging from engineers to executive leadership
Application Engineering & Power Systems Expertise
Specify medium voltage transformer solutions including padmount, unit substation, and dry‑type (cast resin/epoxy)
Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NEC standards
Provide guidance on protection schemes, grounding, and interconnection requirements
Support integration into data center and renewable power architectures
Evaluate existing transformer assets and develop retrofit and second‑life strategies
Define scopes based on testing data and operational requirements
Advise on lifecycle extension and reliability improvementsLead implementation of transformer monitoring, controls, and predictive maintenance solutionsAlign technical solutions with uptime, reliability, and visibility requirements Technical Leadership
Mentor internal teams on transformer applications and power systems
Develop technical tools, guides, and training materials
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure execution success
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in transformer sales engineering, application engineering, or power systems (medium voltage up to 35 kV)
Background with OEMs, EPC firms, or power equipment providers
Strong expertise in padmount, unit substation, and dry‑type transformers
Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NEC standards (NETA familiarity preferred)
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, protection schemes, and specifications
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technically and commercially
