
TEMP Marketing & Business Development Specialist

Reporting to the Firm’s Director of Marketing & Business Development, this position will be tasked with successfully, efficiently, and creatively supporting Firm BD projects focused on enhancing interested partners’ BD endeavors. The M/BD Specialist will be assigned a high level of responsibility with an expectation of proactively supporting BD initiatives. The role includes working with market data and metrics from outside sources, as well as internal data and metrics, to generate RFP responses and pitch proposals, and other deliverables used in the Firm’s business development process. Joining a small, award-winning team, the successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, a creative eye, and the ability to multitask.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Participating in the Firm’s BD intake process to assist newly hired associates/laterals with implementing their BD efforts.
Working with attorneys/practices on developing annual business plans, to include follow-up, measuring effectiveness, and otherwise supporting attorneys to set and meet achievable goals.
Providing guidance and support on M/BD initiatives (such as events, sponsorships, memberships) and working with other team members to successfully execute.
Creating and maintaining a reference library of resources including pitches, speaking points, representative clients, and client/prospect communication templates.
Completing RFP research, prep, and follow-up (as well as tracking win/lose and why) and reviewing prospect “touches” over time.
Independently completing client/prospect/industry research.
Working with attorneys to identify opportunities to engage with clients/prospects; proactively motivating attorneys to pursue these opportunities.
Developing meaningful metrics to drive BD targeting and planning, as well as using this data to craft clear, client/prospect-facing promotional materials.
Supporting marketing events by completing pre-event research and post-event follow-up.
Reporting Firm data to publications responsible for rankings.
Overseeing BD portion of Firm’s internal Marketing Incentive Program.
Maintaining transactional tracking in Firm’s CRM.
Required

3-5 years of law firm or professional services experience
Polished written and verbal communication; outgoing personality
Creative problem-solver

Ability to form effective working relationships and rapport with lawyers and staff firm-wide
Fluency in Adobe CC (particularly InDesign), Microsoft Office Suite
