We provide professional and technical solutions that deliver safe, well‑executed, capital‑efficient engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects to clients worldwide. This role will be part of the most rapidly growing segment within Fluor, one that spearheads transformative projects in the Gas Turbine Power industry.

The Commercial Strategies Lead provides leadership in developing and driving supply chain commercial strategies that influence capital cost, execution risk, and overall business outcomes for projects and pursuits, with a primary focus on U.S.-based gas turbine power projects. This role partners with project leadership, category management, and global sourcing teams to shape sourcing and risk mitigation strategies across the full project lifecycle.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

Lead development and execution of supply chain commercial strategies aligned with Fluor business objectives and project execution plans

Serve as a commercial advisor to project, proposal, and functional leadership

Provide commercial strategy leadership for U.S. gas turbine power projects, including GT, ST, HRSG, and balance‑of‑plant equipment

Analyze commodity, industry, and supplier market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies

Partner with Global Category Managers to define sourcing and bidder list strategies for critical equipment and materials

Provide oversight of estimating assumptions, benchmarks, and market intelligence to support capital cost development

Collaborate closely with a centralized, globally distributed procurement team across time zones

Apply Fluor commercial risk management frameworks and advise on lump sum and reimbursable execution strategies

Define negotiation, purchase order, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with prime contract requirements

Mentor and guide Commercial Strategies Specialists and support knowledge transfer across the SCCS organization

Present commercial strategies and recommendations to senior leadership and clients as required

May need to travel to attend to business related matters

Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years’ of work‑related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years’ if non‑degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal
ational statutes and guidelines

Ability to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field

10+ years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain, commercial strategy, procurement, or project delivery roles

Experience supporting U.S.-based gas turbine power projects

Strong understanding of supply chain commercial strategies, market intelligence, and risk management

Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior leadership

Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills

Proficiency in Excel spread sheets

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Requirements for Candidates Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Salary Range $92,000.00 - $171,000.00
