
Mechanical Designer

Purpose
Provide essential technical support, create comprehensive designs, and ensure compliance with project requirements while collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals. Employ CAD software to design and modify project plans, solving problems with attention to detail and deep mechanical engineering knowledge. Drive innovation and achieve project goals, coordinating with the design team to ensure final designs comply with industry standards and regulations. Participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting, and scope management.

Project Status Reporting
Provide CAD drafting, prepare drawings and schematics from specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
Coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
Present design deliverables to project members, cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, and clients.
Plan, forecast, and track deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
Identify scope changes and estimate impact on effort and schedule.
Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying deliverables, and estimating effort required.
Work independently.
Prepare, review, and approve mechanical equipment and piping BOMs and designs.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or associate degree or equivalent preferred.
Seven or more years of relevant experience.
Experience with AutoCAD Vault preferred.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills—written and verbal.
High level of personal integrity.
Strong relationship capabilities.
Proficient in both written and spoken.
