Job Summary
The part‑time Hospitality Event Associate plays a key role in delivering memorable, high-quality guest experiences at winery‑hosted events, private tastings, wine club functions, and off‑site activations. This position supports the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of hospitality events across two winery locations, working closely with the tasting room teams. The ideal candidate is service‑oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast‑paced, guest‑facing environment.
Essential Functions
Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of on‑site and off‑site winery events, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, signage, wine service stations, and decor elements.
Provide warm, professional guest service during winery events, private tastings, wine club functions, and special experiences, ensuring guests feel welcomed, informed, and attended to throughout the event.
Successfully educate guests about our wines, elevated experiences, and history.
Provide an exceptional experience while pouring wines during the lunch/dinner service.
Set up and break down events, including movement of tables, chairs, wine, and umbrellas to different event locations on property.
Assist in executing event timeline.
Work with vendors during events to ensure fluidity of timeline and flow.
Close up and secure the venue concluding the event.
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on event needs at either winery location.
Other Functions
Accountable for tracking wine and rental inventory.
Additional duties may be assigned as business needs change.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years or older at time of hire.
Knowledge of wine and an interest in developing expertise in wine.
Comfortable engaging in wine sales and promoting wine club membership as part of the guest experience.
Retail/sales experience (experience in wine and hospitality is preferred).
Friendly, outgoing, and energetic with exceptional communication skills.
Pro‑active and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments.
Superior customer service skills and service driven.
Work well in a fast‑paced and active environment.
Required education level: High School.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to approximately fifty pounds, including cases of wine, tables, chairs, and event supplies.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during events, tastings, and event setup and breakdown.
Ability to use hands and arms for handling glassware, pouring wine, carrying trays, and operating basic event or point‑of‑sale equipment.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions during on‑site and off‑site winery events.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to set up event spaces, stock supplies, and clean event areas.
Ability to travel between winery locations within California as needed; valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required.
Compensation Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00/hr plus incentives, tips, and bonuses.
