Community Engagement Coordinator
Position Details:
Classification Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Salary Range: $6,769 - $8,173 per month
Location: North Orange Continuing Education – Anaheim Campus
Department: NOCE-AC Campus Communications
Employment Type: 12 months per year, 100% full‑time
Work Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (subject to change)
Primary Purpose Under the direction of the Director of Campus Communications, this position is responsible for serving as the lead for institutional coordination of strategic outreach, partnership development, and community engagement.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Develop a community engagement and partnership development plan aligned with the institutional strategic plan and enrollment priorities.
Perform marketing and outreach activities to promote awareness of campus programs, services, and events.
Assist in fundraising efforts to secure financial support for student scholarships, program enhancements, and other institutional initiatives.
Represent the campus at community, partner, legislative, and media events.
Develop informational materials, outreach presentations, and community engagement workshops.
Communicate regularly with community partners via email, phone, newsletter, and other formats; maintain a master partner database and outreach calendar.
Establish streamlined partnership agreements and track data from outreach events.
Create content for newsletters, websites, social media, and reports regarding institutional partnerships and community engagement.
Research, recommend, and integrate industry trends and best practices into operational processes.
Act as liaison with schools, organizations, legislators, and local leaders, providing campus tours, coordinating outreach events, and scheduling advocacy visits.
Organize, attend, or lead project‑based meetings; coordinate programs and services with other personnel.
Manage office activities: write, edit, and send correspondence; schedule appointments; handle calls and mail; prepare presentation materials.
Monitor the community engagement budget; approve expenditures; track budget status; maintain petty cash accounts.
Order supplies, prepare purchase requisitions, and track orders.
Assist in planning, coordination, scheduling, and publicity for public relations events.
Learn and apply emerging technologies to perform duties efficiently.
Train, provide work direction, and coordinate with internal and external partners.
Participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; attend related trainings and events.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field *AND* three (3) years of experience in communications, community engagement, or a related field with demonstrated networking, presentation, outreach, and writing skills.
OR Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field *AND* five (5) years of experience in communications, community engagement, or a related field with demonstrated networking, presentation, outreach, and writing skills.
OR any combination of education and experience that provides the required equivalent qualifications.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, including sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Farsi, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Chinese, or another language.
Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Prior experience approaching work and interactions with colleagues and students in an equity‑minded manner.
