We are seeking a high energy, persuasive, polished, business development professional to support the growth and management of accounts in the Container Handling and Mining/Bulk Material Handling markets in the Americas region.

You will work closely with the Market Development Managers, sales and manufacturing teams and be supported by an organization that is known as an industry leader in the mobile electrification market, producing high quality products such as conductor bars, festoons, slip rings, industrial cables, cords and hose reel lines, and providing "service after the sale" that drives our niche in the market.

As a key element of SMO (Sales and Marketing Office) Americas, the Business Development Specialist will support the corresponding MDM in their work with SMO USA, SMO Canada, SMO Mexico, SMO Brazil, and Latin America Sales Group in collaborating with manufacturing Centers of Excellence.

Qualifications

Associate degree in engineering, sales, marketing or business and preferably (3) years of related experience, OR any similar combination of education/training and experience.

Preferable experience supporting sales development, account management, project management and market development support.

Willingness for light travel within the first year (up to 10%), with a potential increase in future travel as a must (20 to 40%).

Be a strategic thinker and help generate initiatives to grow sales within markets.

Understand marketing concepts and be customer oriented, proactive, making sure their needs are met.

Project management skills preferable.

Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365.

Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.

Be resourceful and creative, knowing how to "get it done" through/with the customer, engineering, quality, and the factory.

Understanding of electrification products a plus.

Effective fluency in both spoken & written Spanish and English is required.

SUMMARY
The objective of the Business Development Specialist is to strategically support the growth of the business for the assigned market(s) and respective sub‑segments for the Sales and Marketing Organization (SMO) in the Americas. The Specialist will achieve objectives by assisting the Market Development Manager(s) in implementing global marketing strategies, adapting them to fit the domestic marketplace, and ensuring effective management of strategic sales and marketing activities, key customer management, and project management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports all corporate objectives and policies.

Work together with the Market Development Manager(s) to ensure SMOs achieve sales and profit goals.

Highly accountable for all sales support and customer satisfaction within the Container Handling and Mining/Bulk Material Handling markets.

Works with Market Development Manager(s) to monitor and assist in the coordination of special projects, interface between SMOs, Centers of Excellence (COE), and other internal teams.

Provides insight to Market Development Manager(s) to develop and execute annual Strategic Market Development Plan outlining sales, marketing, and business development strategies for the respective markets and sub‑segments.

Shares with other members of the SMO, responsibility for the management of key market accounts. Such control responsibility in coordination with the Market Development Manager(s) shall include relationship management of products offered, pricing levels and influence on sales and distribution channels.

After initial training period, once product and application knowledge is gained, shall provide technical application support to the outside sales members of the Americas SMOs.

Actively works with Market Development Manager(s) to develop and/or adapt applicable sales and marketing tools.

Assists Market Development Manager(s) in working with SMO Manager and Outside Sales Manager (OSM) in identifying and executing key budget objectives. Demonstrates initiative to educate and further enhance the knowledge of DSMs and Reps on the respective markets.

In cooperation with inside and outside sales teams, follows up on key open quotations and projects.

Monitors and communicates competitor activity, sales data, and product data with SMO and MU.

Assists the Market Development Manager(s) in the coordination and participation of tradeshows with Director of Marketing Americas, SMO Manager, and OSM.

Works closely with Market Development Manager(s) in executing pricing policies for the respective market with SMO Manager, OSM, Product Managers (PM) and COEs.

Will help Market Development Manager(s) communicate effectively with other key members of the organization for setting discount structures for key accounts in the respective markets.

Quoting and account management will be required for unique Projects and/or Products, as needed for particular circumstances.

Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Market Development Managers - Americas.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in engineering, sales, marketing or business and preferably (3) years of related experience, OR any similar combination of education/training and experience.

TYPING AND OFFICE SOFTWARE SKILLS
Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Typing a minimum of 50 words per minute is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Effective fluency in both spoken & written Spanish and English is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position is conditional on the application and approval for a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) for entry into Bulk and Container Ports.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds during potential field visits or tradeshows. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Field visits may include inspection/review of equipment at significant heights (150 ft or more).

TRAVEL
International and/or Domestic Travel flexibility required (mainly within Americas region). First year travel will be limited to training opportunities and may reach 5–10%. By year three, travel could increase to as much as 20% to 40% of the time. This may include customer visits, tradeshows/conferences, training opportunities, etc., as business requires.
