Custom Residential Architectural Designer

Responsibilities: Design custom residential homes from concept through construction drawings Modify and adapt existing home plans to meet client requirements Develop design solutions balancing aesthetics, functionality, and buildability Collaborate with clients to understand lifestyle needs, design preferences, and budget constraints Present architectural concepts and guide clients through design decisions Incorporate client feedback while maintaining design and structural integrity Work closely with construction and project teams to ensure designs are practical and executable Review plans during pre-construction to identify and resolve potential issues Provide architectural support throughout the construction phase Produce complete architectural drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations Coordinate with engineers and external consultants as required Contribute to architectural standards, design guidelines, and plan libraries Support development of new model home designs Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques

Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in residential architectural design Experience working on custom or luxury residential projects Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit Strong understanding of residential construction methods Excellent communication and client interaction skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work full-time in an office environment

Must-Have Skills: Residential architectural design expertise Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit Client-facing communication and presentation skills Knowledge of construction documentation and detailing Understanding of building codes and compliance requirements Project coordination and multitasking ability

Good-to-Have Skills: Experience with luxury or high-end custom home design Familiarity with design visualization tools (e.g., 3D modeling, rendering) Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (sales, construction, consultants) Knowledge of current residential design trends and materials Ability to contribute to design standards and architectural direction
