Golf Starter/Marshal

Angel Fire Resort is looking for golf starters/marshals to join our team this summer. In this outdoor position, you will ensure the orderly flow of tee times and provide starters speech, provide players with necessary information and equipment, and monitor the golf course by picking up broken tees, trash, and managing water on range. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the golf industry and will provide excellent customer service. Base Pay: Starts at $15/hr Location: Angel Fire Resort Golf Course Employee Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Job Category: Seasonal full or part time Leadership Responsibilities: No Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, flexible, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays Environment: This is a primarily outdoor position which may include driving golf carts within the country club area. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimum Age: 16 Estimated start date: Mid May Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Ensures orderly flow of tee times and pace of play Records the cart number and makes sure all names are listed in correct carts Delivers starters speech with daily rules, pin location, on course bathroom location, and water coolers Maintains water and sand divots on range Picks up broken tees, range ball buckets, and trash on range prior to opening and during breaks in tee times In the case that a guest is observed trying to bring their own alcohol onto the course: politely informs the guest of the "no outside alcohol" policy and immediately reports the situation to a supervisor Advises slow groups of position on course and asks them to keep pace Maintains fresh water on course Helps members and guests find lost balls to help speed up play Checks condition of restrooms on course and advises housekeeping of supplies needed Drives the course backwards and stays on cart trails as much as possible Ensures that members and guests drive/park their golf carts in the appropriate/designated areas. Provides friendly and professional atmosphere at all times for members and guests Qualifications: Six months of related golf course industry experience and/or training Valid driver's license with driving record insurable under resort insurance Must have the ability to play golf at an advanced level Demonstrate knowledge of standard golf course rules/etiquette Display passion and enthusiasm for the game of golf
