Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Planning Director, based in Bessemer City, NC. The Planning Director will oversee and lead urban and regional planning initiatives, conduct strategic development of programs, manage zoning and land use regulations, and execute comprehensive planning efforts. Responsibilities include conducting research, analyzing data to inform planning decisions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to align projects with community goals. The role also involves providing insights from market research and implementing strategic plans to enhance the city's development and growth.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills and ability to evaluate data to support decision-making
- Expertise in Planning and Strategic Planning for urban and regional development
- Proficiency in conducting Research and Market Research to assess opportunities and challenges
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to manage projects and collaborate with diverse stakeholders effectively
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field preferred
- Experience in municipal or regional urban planning is a plus
- Knowledge of zoning regulations, land use policies, and sustainability practices
