BI-VOCATIONAL SENIOR PASTOR – FIRST CHURCH, BLANCHESTER
Overview
Blanchester First Church of God is seeking a bi-vocational Pastor to be a spiritual leader who shares our vision for church growth through solid biblical preaching, individual discipleship and community outreach.

The Blanchester First Church of God is a small congregation located in a rural community of southwest Ohio about 30 miles east of Cincinnati, Ohio. Following the retirement of our pastor, we are seeking a dedicated replacement to continue the mission of sharing the Gospel with a community where this church once thrived.

The church is affiliated with the General Assembly Church of God (COG) of Anderson, Indiana, which maintains a unity of theology and doctrines among its people, yet operates independently.

Education & Experience
At a minimum, the candidate should have a high school diploma with schooling and accreditations from a theological school or seminary. They need to be Ordained in the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) or in the process of being Ordained in the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana).

The candidate must believe and have adopted the doctrines of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) in addition to being emotionally educated and trained to lead the congregation in the beliefs and doctrines of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana).

Education and Experience will be factored into Compensation package.

Skills/Duties/Responsibilities
Be the lead vision caster for the direction of the church with the intention of discipling its members and growing the Kingdom of God.

Prepare and preach weekly sermons to the congregation and conduct Wednesday night bible studies to help the congregation strengthen their faith and/or overcome significant life changes.

Provide counseling as needed offering spiritual and emotional support.

Periodically officiate special occasions such as weddings, baptisms, dedications and funerals.

Attend monthly board meetings and help with administrative duties as needed.

Possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing in which to inform and encourage congregates.

Actively build relationships with the congregation as well as display leadership skills that also allow you to serve others.

Keep information private when working with congregation members to better counsel and comfort them in times of crisis. You must also respect all conversations with privacy before and after pastoral counseling sessions, keeping sensitive and counseling matters confidential.

It’s imperative that the candidate maintain a strong moral character and be a good example to the congregation of a disciple of Christ with a clear love for all and a growing faith in Jesus Christ.

Assist with community outreach and visitation programs.

Develop programs to encourage spiritual growth.
