General Description The foreman supervises field operations of a pipe crew and engages in the trade work performed by the crew.
Key Duties
Knowledgeable in the areas of pipework for sanitary sewer, drains, and watermains
Directly supervise pipe crew, reporting to Superintendent
Operate and supervise the operation of heavy equipment on project sites
Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications
Provide reports on time and materials
Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Use heavy equipment and supervise its use
Dewatering, bypass pumping, wet utilities, heavy equipment, line alignment, leak testing
Knowledge of local specifications, materials, and methods
Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs
Proven experience supervising subsurface construction, ability to multi‑task and resolve issues
