About the Role
The Quality Director will serve as a senior leader responsible for driving strategic direction, execution excellence, and enterprise alignment across critical Quality initiatives. This role operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, leading high-impact workstreams within global programs to ensure delivery of business-critical outcomes.
This leader will define the vision and priorities for their scope, make complex decisions in dynamic environments, and ensure strong accountability across stakeholders. Success in this role requires the ability to influence at the executive level, navigate ambiguity, and translate strategy into measurable results.
Work Mode This role is hybrid, requiring you to be onsite 3 days per week. The position will be based out of Marlborough, MA.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Direction & Prioritization
Set the vision and strategic direction for assigned Quality program deliverables, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise priorities
Define and continuously refine priorities based on business needs, risk landscape, and organizational goals
Translate strategic objectives into clear roadmaps, initiatives, and deliverables with measurable outcomes
Ensure alignment between global strategy and execution across regions, functions, and business units
Anticipate future needs and proactively shape the evolution of the Quality function
Serve as a key decision‑maker for complex, high-impact issues, balancing risk, speed, and business value
Lead trade‑off decisions across competing priorities, resources, and timelines
Establish and drive clear escalation pathways, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues
Provide guidance and direction to teams on navigating ambiguity, risk, and operational challenges
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on critical decisions impacting program success
Stakeholder Alignment & Accountability
Engage and influence senior stakeholders across Quality, R&D, Operations, and Commercial functions
Drive alignment on priorities, roles, and expected outcomes across the workstream
Reinforce accountability by establishing clear ownership, governance structures, and performance expectations
Ensure delivery of committed outcomes, proactively addressing gaps and risks to execution
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 10 years of experience in complaint trending, post‑market surveillance, or related experience
Experience participating in strategic planning processes and able to understand and identify critical drivers of strategy
Experience at identifying and clearly articulating plans within a highly matrixed, global organization
Ability to use data and inputs to conduct SWOT analyses, predict future state, and build scenarios
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree preferred
High sense of urgency and commitment to execution
Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills
Ability to serve as a consultant; use adept questioning to get beyond symptoms to root causes; able to identify, separate and synthesize key points; able to tailor complex messages to different audiences; a pragmatic problem‑solver who can imagine the possible and make it practical
Ability to lead without authority and facilitate agreement on paths forward with teams to create coherent alignment toward end goals

Maximum Salary: $308,600
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining compensation. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
BSC offers variable compensation for non‑exempt (hourly) and exempt roles, including annual bonus targets and, for exempt roles, long‑term incentives when applicable.
