Shipping and Packaging Lead
Air Comfort, Inc, Big Lake, MN, United States
Acucraft Fireplaces – Big Lake, MN
Acucraft Fireplaces is seeking a hands‑on Shipping & Packaging Supervisor to lead outbound operations for our custom‑built fireplace systems. This role is responsible for ensuring every product is packaged, protected, and delivered with a
white‑glove, luxury‑level experience —from our shop floor to the customer.
This is a shop‑floor leadership role, not a desk position. You will own how our product is received, handled, and experienced by the customer.
What You’ll Own
Oversee daily outbound shipments (LTL and full truckload)
Ensure all products are
properly crated, palletized, and protected
Develop and enforce
packaging standards that deliver both:
Maximum Protection
Clean, professional, high‑end presentation
Coordinate with production to ensure
complete and on‑time shipments
Verify
BOL accuracy, labeling, and special handling instructions
Inspect loads for
securement, stability, and weather protection
Train and lead team members on
precision packaging and handling
Anticipate and eliminate issues that create stress for the customer at delivery
You will be expected to think beyond shipping logistics and ensure:
Packaging is intuitive to unpack and does not create frustration
The shipment reflects the quality of a
premium, custom‑built product
Delivery does not create unnecessary burden on the customer or jobsite
What You Must Be Good At
Managing
multiple high‑value shipments simultaneously without errors
Building packaging that
survives real‑world handling (LTL especially)
Spotting risks before they become damage claims or customer complaintsl>
Holding a team accountable and maintaining high standards of execution on the floor
Required Experience
Hands‑on experience shipping
heavy, fragile, or custom‑built products
Strong working knowledge of:
Crating and palletizing
Load securement and protection
LTL and truckload shipping
Proven ability to stay organized in a
fast‑paced, detail‑heavy environment
Preferred
Manufacturing or high‑end custom fabrication environment
Experience reducing freight damage and improving customer delivery experience
This Role is NOT a Fit If You:
View shipping as “get it out the door” instead of customer experience
Prefer working behind a desk vs. being on the floor
Have only handled shipping paperwork without building or inspecting loads
Struggle with organization, urgency, or attention to detail
Avoid accountability when things go wrong
Why This Role Matters You own the final step before our product reaches the customer. Your work determines whether the delivery feels chaotic and stressful—or seamless and high‑end.
