AR/Collections Specialist (Consulting)

Position Summary We are seeking an AR/Collections Specialist to join a leading organization on a contract-to-hire basis with operations across the United States. This role will manage customer accounts, support accounts receivable processes, and drive the timely collection of outstanding balances to support financial operations.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.

Contact customers regarding past‑due invoices via phone, email, and written communication.

Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on risk and exposure.

Process AR transactions including invoicing, payment posting, and adjustments.

Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.

Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities and communications.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and improve processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Minimum 2+ years of corporate accounts receivable and/or B2B collections experience.

Experience with B2B collections required (non‑healthcare).

Skills and Job‑Specific Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and aging analysis.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

High attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving ability.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Travel Requirements No travel will be required, unless at the client’s discretion.

Physical Requirements Mobility to attend in‑person meetings, sitting or standing for extended periods, and use of telephone, computer, or other electronic communication devices.

Salary Range A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $27–$28.
