The Director, People Business Partner is a trusted advisor to the business, creating value by anticipating talent needs that influence business strategy, shaping and implementing people initiatives, guiding organizational change, and fostering a workplace culture aligned with how the business operates and goes to market. In addition to directing and executing a full range of people policies, initiatives, and programs to ensure alignment, consistency, and shared accountability across enterprise-wide programs, enabling cohesive support for both business‑unit and corporate priorities.

- Develops and implements talent strategies, initiatives, and solutions that support business needs in collaboration with senior business leaders
- Responsible for the alignment between business objectives and People programs
- Serves as feedback channel between business and various People functions to ensure the business perspective is understood
- Proactively identify opportunities to drive efficiency and effectiveness within People organization and support of the business
- Optimizes organizational structures through partnership with executives and departmental leadership
- Leads and implements talent development strategies including engagement, workforce effectiveness, and culture with frontline leaders and team members
- Promotes and leads organizational change at all levels of the company
- Partner with business leaders and Talent COEs to execute initiatives such as workforce planning, org design, talent reviews, performance and pay planning, succession planning, and team member experience
- Drives effective resolution of team member relations issues and stays abreast of changes in the industry, laws, and regulations
- Develops measurable action plans for the business unit, partnering with People Analytics team to make data-informed decisions on various business needs
- Lead a team of HR Business Partners and generalists; provide coaching, mentorship and real time feedback
- Formulates and executes strategic business plans aimed at achieving the organization’s short-term and long-term objectives
- Provides strategy for team motivation, orchestrates change as needed, drives results through excellent people management
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives while exhibiting a flexible and innovative approach to support business goals
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience/training; Advanced degree preferred
- 10 years of prior work experience in human resources, including team member relations and investigations; airline experience preferred
- 7 years of experience in leadership roles, as well as a demonstrated track record of progression
- Broad business and financial understanding
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- PHR/SPHR or related Human Resources Certification

- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to handle complex topics comfortably and to effectively and clearly communicate a strategic and tactical vision to all levels within the organization
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as function effectively as a member of a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Periodic travel is required
