Director of Investor Relations

Reports to: VP Finance

About the Opportunity

A leading, innovation‑focused products organization is undergoing a major transformation within Finance and elevating the strategic importance of Investor Relations. This high‑visibility Senior Director role is both strategic and hands‑on, with future opportunity to build and lead an IR team. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership and help shape the company’s investor narrative.

Hybrid schedule includes shuttle access from the Deerfield Metra station and a newly built, amenity‑rich HQ environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement a comprehensive IR strategy
• Integrate finance, marketing, and communications into a cohesive narrative
• Lead annual IR roadmap, investor meetings, and conference preparation

Investor & Market Communication

• Strengthen market credibility and external messaging
• Lead communications on financial results and major business updates
• Oversee investor materials and IR website content
• Monitor market trends, peer performance, and analyst sentiment
• Build relationships with analysts; track shareholder composition
• Provide insights and updates to senior leadership and the Board
• Lead quarterly earnings processes across Finance, Legal, and Communications
• Maintain deep knowledge of analyst models and valuation methods
• Manage IR analytics tools and databases

Relationship Management

• Engage current and prospective investors
• Build relationships with financial media and trade publications

Compliance

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including Reg FD

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 10+ years in investor relations, finance, or corporate communications
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of market dynamics
• Exceptional communication and strategic thinking skills
• Experience engaging with analysts, investors, and executives
• Deep knowledge of SEC guidelines and compliance

Preferred

• MBA and/or CFA
• Public‑company experience
• Financial modeling expertise
