
Construction Superintendent

Location: Berlin, CT
We’re looking for a hands‑on, highly organized Construction Superintendent to lead on‑site operations and drive projects from kickoff through completion. This role is critical to ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high‑quality standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and job‑site personnel effectively
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
Background in commercial, residential, multifamily, or industrial construction
Experience with scheduling/project management tools (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar)
CPR/First Aid certification
What You’ll Do Site Management & Operations
Oversee all daily on‑site construction activities
Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, labor, and materials
Ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and local building codes
Maintain a clean, organized, and productive job site
Schedule & Quality Control
Partner with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules
Track progress and proactively resolve delays or issues
Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality standards are met
Verify completed work prior to inspections and project turnover
Safety & Compliance
Enforce company, OSHA, and site‑specific safety standards
Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks
Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately
Maintain accurate safety documentation and incident reports
Communication & Leadership
Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact
Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients
Lead by example and promote a professional, team‑oriented job‑site culture
Resolve field issues and conflicts efficiently
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and manpower tracking
Review drawings, RFIs, and change orders
Support inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation
