WJZ is looking for a dynamic Producer to work on linear and streaming newscasts. The role requires close coordination with News Managers, Assignment Desk, Digital Team, and Broadcast Line Producers. You will create a compelling show based on the news of the day while meeting WJZ brand objectives.
Responsibilities
Format and manage a daily broadcast.
Assist fellow Producers and managers to lead a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and writers.
Help with daily production, content and aggressive execution of news.
Write scripts for your show and assist other producers.
Anticipate the needs of the show regarding video, graphics, scripts and other elements.
Follow the news and produce content in a compelling way.
Develop creative presentation of news and produce highly creative teases.
Onsite work.
Qualifications
Two or more years' experience in creating and building show rundowns in a broadcast or digital environment, or strong experience in a college journalism program.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work under extremely tight deadlines.
Availability to work nights or weekends.
Compensation Hiring Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 70,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
