Position Overview
WJZ is looking for a dynamic Producer to work on linear and streaming newscasts. The role requires close coordination with News Managers, Assignment Desk, Digital Team, and Broadcast Line Producers. You will create a compelling show based on the news of the day while meeting WJZ brand objectives.
Responsibilities
Formatting and managing a daily broadcast.
Assist fellow Producers and managers to lead a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors, and writers.
Help with daily production, content and aggressive execution of news.
Write scripts for your show and assist other producers.
Anticipate the needs of the show regarding video, graphics, scripts and other elements.
Follow the news and produce content in a compelling way.
Develop creative presentation of news and produce highly creative teases.
Onsite work.
Qualifications / Skills
Two+ years of experience creating and building show rundowns in a broadcast or digital environment, or strong experience in a college journalism program.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work under very tight deadlines.
Availability to work nights or weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring salary range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00.
