
Seasonal Special Events Associate

Description
Merryvale Vineyards, a world renowned, family‑owned, ultra‑premium winery, is excited to announce a search for a Seasonal Special Events Associate within the Direct‑to‑Consumer team. The Special Events Associate participates in the coordination and execution of events, assistance with marketing of our event spaces, and delivering great hospitality to our guests. This role shares the responsibility for the success of events in our world‑famous Merryvale Cask Room as well as the Profile Estate Vineyard.
Responsibilities
Executes on‑site events at both Merryvale & Estate properties – including consumer, wine club, corporate, private parties, weddings, trade, and marketing
Includes emailing, printing menus, making diagrams, setting up and breaking down tables & chairs, wine & food service, retail transactions, ensuring winery returns to guest‑ready condition at conclusion of event.
Assists in email communication for event details; responds promptly, professionally, and efficiently to clients
Carries out the detailed plan for executing each event and keeps it up to date
Communicates event plan to on‑call event staff and catering staff
Implements highest‑level of service standards for events and event staff
Maintains and cultivates relationships with all events vendors
Represents the winery and Events department in a highly professional manner
Cultivates existing relationships with clients for increased events & wine sales
Assists the Events Manager with outreach and outbound sales for Events department – with focus on development of client relationships in short and long term
Assists the Events Manager with site visits as needed
Partners with other departments to coordinate logistics
Assists Tasting Room staff as needed
Responsible for communication of brand identification points throughout all events
Consults weekly with Event Manager & tasting room regarding details of upcoming events and spaces that will be used
Record keeping of event supplies, and ensuring we are fully stocked for successful execution
Qualifications
2 years of hospitality experience, preferably including events
Self‑starter, always looking for tasks that need to be completed
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and leadership presence that inspires others to grow themselves and the business
Willingness to do any task that needs to be done for the event to run smoothly
Ability to keep track of many details of different events simultaneously
Passion for wine, food, and the wine country lifestyle
Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs
Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule with evenings, weekends, and holidays when events are scheduled
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
Familiarity with Commerce7 preferred
Must be able to bend, reach, climb stairs, and perform tasks related to event setup and breakdown
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs such as wine cases and furniture
