Role Summary We are looking for a Senior SQL Database Administrator with 10+ years of experience to manage, optimize, and support enterprise database platforms. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, focused primarily on Azure SQL environments, with some exposure to AWS databases.
Required Skills & Experience 10+ years in IT, with 8+ years as a SQL DBA Experience supporting enterprise, production-scale databases
Technical Skills Strong experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server Working knowledge of AWS RDS (SQL Server/Aurora) HA/DR (Always On, Failover Groups), backup & recovery Performance tuning and capacity planning Database security and compliance
Nice to Have Azure or SQL Server certifications Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
Key Responsibilities: Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs Support AWS databases such as RDS (SQL Server/Aurora) in hybrid environments Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restore strategies Monitor and tune database performance; optimize queries and indexing Implement database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing Execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning Automate routine DBA tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or scripting tools Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis Maintain operational documentation and standards Provide technical guidance as a senior IC"
