Job Title: Senior Business Analyst - Payments Domain
Location:Jersey City, NJ (On-site, 5 days/week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with at least 5 years of solid experience in business analysis, preferably within the Payments Line of Business (LOB) or financial services domain. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in gathering and refining requirements. This is an on-site position based in Jersey City, NJ, with the expectation to work 5 days from the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements. Filter and structure incoming requirements to eliminate noise, identify priorities, and clarify scope. Develop comprehensive BRDs (Business Requirement Documents), user stories, and acceptance criteria. Support end-to-end delivery, from ideation to production rollout. Participate in requirement review sessions and ensure alignment across business and technology teams. Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of business needs post-implementation. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment. Stay current with trends and developments in the payments industry, and demonstrate willingness to grow in this domain. Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in financial services or banking. Strong experience in requirement elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication. Proven ability to reduce ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver clear, actionable requirements. Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and visio/flowcharting tools. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or understanding of the Payments Line of Business (e.g., wires, ACH, RTP, SWIFT, ISO 20022, etc.). Exposure to enterprise-level financial systems. Comfortable working in highly regulated environments. Knowledge of data flows and system integration is a plus.
