Position Sales Engineer Industrial Automation

Location Irving, TX

Position Summary The Sales Engineer will serve as a technical resource and trusted advisor for customers seeking automation solutions. This role combines engineering expertise with consultative selling to deliver tailored solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and reliability for industrial and OEM clients.

Responsibilities

Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the industrial automation market.

Technical Sales Support: Collaborate with account managers to identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and present technical solutions to customers.

Solution Development: Design and recommend automation solutions, including PLCs, drives, motion control, robotics, and industrial networking.

Customer Consultation and Support: Analyze customer processes, provide guidance and assist with product selection, application design, and troubleshooting.

Project Coordination: Work closely with vendors, integrators, and internal teams to ensure successful implementation and commissioning.

Training & Education: Conduct product demonstrations and technical training for customers and internal staff.

Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 10+ years in industrial automation sales or engineering; experience with end‑users, OEMs and system integrators preferred.

Additional Requirements

Technical Skills: Knowledge of PLC programming, VFDs, motion control, and industrial communication protocols. Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider).

Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
