Job Summary:
In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities: Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 25 craft)
Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
Planning / Productivity
Determines workforce requirements.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Safety & Quality
Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
Technical
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation relating to field activities.
Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy, the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisor’s ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Additional Information:
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not be limited to night shift or split shift. Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including extensive walking, climbing, working on elevated platforms, working in uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
