Description The Asset Solutions Specialist will preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral. The salary range for this position is $21.00-$24.00 per hour.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities Contacts delinquent accounts (by assigned queue) by phone calls, mail and email.
Takes appropriate action to bring current.
Reply to attorney emails (back-up)
Charge off loans (smart pay and overdrawn accounts)
Posting attorney checks (back-up)
Debt Settlement related work - filing claims, follow up and applying payments
Filling out charge off worksheet and send to management for approval
Processing returned mail on collections related activity
Insurance Claims - filing claims, follow up and applying payments
Process subpoenas (back-up)
All other necessary filing
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
To maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity.
To ensure that collection activity is both within credit union policy and all relevant regulations.
To provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
Expectations are for the collectors are to be sure to contact members via phone calls, letters, e-mails and text messages as needed to engage communication related to delinquent accounts.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Support branches during regular business hours: (Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; some Fri 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and some Sat 9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
Position Requirements Experience- Six months to two years of similar or related experience is desired or time with AFCU.
Education- Associates Degree preferred; or a high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
