Summary of Primary Functions
Dobbs Equipment is looking for a Credit Administrator. The Credit Administrator is responsible for managing the credit risk and receivables of an assigned area with the objective of maximizing profits and aiding the sales department in achieving their targeted goals. This position has responsibility for receivable collection, credit investigation and account establishment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Manage assigned accounts to maintain low levels of delinquency. Collect past due accounts utilizing technology and collection strategies. Gather relevant market information and negotiate payment plans with past due customers. Customer visits as needed.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with assigned Dobbs customers, providing necessary documentation to resolve any outstanding issues. Negotiate and determine best approach with customers on payment of account delinquencies.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners (VPs, GMs, sales and operations), utilizing clear and frequent communication. Assist Credit Manager with training.

Develop, prepare, and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to outstanding receivables. Prepare, schedule, and lead weekly/monthly calls with branch management to review past‑due customer accounts.

Establish credit limits, as well as increases and decreases when needed. Review and approve or decline branch credit, terms, override requests.

Conduct credit analysis of new customers using financial statement analysis, credit bureau reports, customer history, and branch feedback. Enter new customer accounts into computer database.

Perform ongoing credit analysis of existing customers, reviewing credit lines and customers with changing trends. Provide increased credit adjustments as appropriate using financial statements, credit bureau reports, customer payment history, and branch feedback.

Review and provide credit decisions on parts, service, rentals, demo, and RPO transactions, authorizing additional sales to customers as needed.

Utilize tools to secure transactions with liens and file UCC statements as needed. Prepare and send collection and demand letters.

Analyze and prioritize litigated and defaulted accounts according to risk and exposure. Make recommendations to corporate management on engagement of resolution.

Utilize Collection Management System (CMS) consistently to assure appropriate notes are made on account activity.

Assist with account reconciliation and resolution of misapplied cash.

Prepare bad debt write‑off requests for non‑finance charge related bad debt.

Prepare release of liens, notices of non‑payment, proof of claims, and sworn statements of accounts as needed. Communicate and mentor Branch Administrators regarding notice to owner, lien, bond and/or release of lien issues.

Manage customer PowerPlan and internal credit line based on needs. Communicate with customer and Credit Manager to request increases. Assist in obtaining required documentation for PowerPlan as requested. Assist with rejected PowerPlan invoices that have been billed in‑house by communicating with GM, VP, and applicable branch personnel for resolution.

Scan documents into Performa relating to legal files, credit applications, credit bureau reports, bankruptcy, and related documentation.

Establish both internal and PowerPlan accounts as requested.

Perform account maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

Valid Driver's License

Accounting experience

Credit/Collections experience

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements

College Degree in Finance/Accounting or a minimum of three years in Credit and Collections.

Strong ability in negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with proficient follow‑up.

Ability to manage positive relationships, both internally and externally, and hold teammates and customers accountable.

Positive attitude, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and good organizational skills.

Good understanding of credit reporting agencies such as Equifax and Cortera, as well as basic understanding of financial statements.

Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Willingness to travel as needed. Less than 10% of the time.

Knowledge of related federal and state laws affecting and governing collection activity.

Knowledge of related federal and state laws affecting bankruptcy.

Knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) – Revised Article 9 or equivalent legislation.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Must be able to self‑manage/self‑motivate.

PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.

Understanding of credit and collections.

Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
