Employee Relations Coordinator

The Employee Relations Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering a fair, respectful, and legally compliant workplace culture at Anderson Center for Autism. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, this role is responsible for managing complex employee relations matters including workplace investigations, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution. The Employee Relations Coordinator partners closely with HR leadership and agency management to ensure sensitive employee concerns—such as harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment complaints, and serious policy violations—are handled with consistency, professionalism, and care. This role focuses on higher‑risk, complex employee relations issues, while routine grievances and standard staff development activities are managed by the Coordinator of Staff Development.

Pay Range: $67,670.00 - $72,870.00 Salary; Based on experience RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage complex employee relations matters and conduct workplace investigations involving misconduct, harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment complaints, policy violations, and other serious concerns

Conduct thorough and impartial investigations, including interviewing complainants, witnesses, and respondents; gathering documentation; and preparing detailed written findings

Ensure investigations are completed in a timely, confidential, professional, and legally compliant manner

Provide consultation and guidance to supervisors and leadership on complex employee relations issues, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and documentation

Support management personnel through the progressive discipline process, including preparation and review of written warnings, final warnings, performance improvement plans, and termination documentation

Review disciplinary actions to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with agency policy and employment law

Participate in disciplinary and investigatory meetings as requested

Maintain confidential employee relations records, investigation files, and case tracking in accordance with agency policy and legal requirements

Manage unemployment claims, including reviewing claims, preparing documentation, and participating in hearings when necessary

Analyze employee performance evaluation data and disciplinary trends to identify organizational risks, training needs, and systemic concerns; prepare quarterly summary reports for HR leadership

Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Human Resources, Director of HR, and CHRO on complex cases, special projects, policy development, and process improvements

Assist with updates to HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials

Coordinate and support special projects and departmental events, including staff recognition initiatives, benefits-related events, and other HR activities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Sufficient human resources experience to independently manage complex employee relations issues and workplace investigations

Strong knowledge of employment laws, employee relations best practices, and confidentiality standards

Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations
