Job Description SFI is looking for a seasoned Interior Architect — a designer with a rigorous architectural sensibility who can also carry the scope of a Senior Designer — based within driving distance of Santa Monica. Reporting to our Principal Designer and working alongside other designers, this role leads the technical and architectural execution of our residential and commercial projects from schematic design through construction administration.

Manage and deliver projects from start to completion under the creative direction of our Principal Designer.

Own the firm’s construction document sets — floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and detail drawings in AutoCAD.

Lead space planning, including floor plans, furniture plans, circulation studies, and the coordination of plumbing, fixtures, and wet-space layouts.

Design and detail custom furniture, cabinetry, millwork, and architectural built-ins.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for architects, structural engineers, contractors, and fabricators to ensure design intent is executed to specification.

Support project scheduling, procurement programming, budgets, timelines, and Client proposals.

Mentor junior team members on architectural drawing standards, detailing, and the technical side of the design process.

Location + Schedule

Our offices are in Santa Monica, 90402.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with 3 days in our Santa Monica office and the option to WFH 2 days after a trial and training period.

Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive throughout the greater LA area.

Ability to travel both nationally and internationally, as required.

You may be asked to help move or carry project materials, and at some job sites, ladders may be required for access. Possible accommodations needed should be discussed during the interview process.
