Benefits Manager - Americas

Wise, Austin, TX, United States

Company Description Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.

Mission Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money. As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world’s money.

Job Description We are looking for an Americas Benefits Manager to join our Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE). The role is not limited to administering plans; it is a key architect in executing our Global Benefits strategy across the diverse and fast‑growing region, ensuring that Wise’s employee benefits are compliant, competitive and world‑class, attracting and retaining the right people to fuel our global mission.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Americas Benefits Ecosystem: support the development, implementation, and expansion of health, risk, retirement, and flexible benefits programs across the region.

Drive operational evolution: design and maintain end‑to‑end data flows between Rewards, People Ops, and Payroll to ensure seamless process mapping and accuracy.

Vendor & Partner Management: partner with global brokers, pension consultants, flexible benefits administrators and local vendors to manage renewals, pricing, and contracts—proactively troubleshooting issues before they impact Wisers.

Data‑Driven Benchmarking: conduct regular analysis of market trends and claims utilization to keep packages competitive and financially sustainable.

Compliance & Governance: ensure all programs comply with local regulations and Wise’s global policies, staying ahead of legislative changes that impact our offerings.

Communication & Education: work with Internal Communications to deliver education plans that empower Wisers to maximize the value of their benefits.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: partner closely with People Partners, People Operations teams, Payroll, and Finance to align benefits with talent goals and budget management.

Qualifications We are looking for an experienced benefits professional who understands the complexity of the Americas landscape and can translate that into a seamless “Wiser” experience.

Extensive experience: 8–10 years of experience specifically in US, Americas or Global Benefits Management.

Diverse background: proven track record in at least one of the following:

In‑House Benefits Management: managing benefits plans within a corporate HR or Rewards function.

Benefits Consulting: advising multinational clients on strategy, design, and benchmarking.

Employee Benefits Insurance: working within the brokerage or carrier space to structure risk and health solutions.

Technical mastery: deep knowledge of international insured benefits (Healthcare, Risk, Retirement, Flex) and holistic wellbeing policies (Leave, Allowances, etc.).

Technical & Regulatory expertise: deep understanding of the US regulatory landscape and plan mechanics.

Data‑Driven: high proficiency in data tools and visualization—using claims utilization and market facts to inform your approach.

Collaborative & globally aware: skilled at building strong relationships across geographies, influencing without hierarchy, and balancing local needs with global impact.

Extra Skills We’d Love

Financial / Tech Services Experience: insight into the commercial landscape of the fintech or finance world.

Consulting Background: experience in a consulting environment is a plus but not a requirement.

Compliance Focus: knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and the ACA.

Commitment to Inclusion We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We celebrate differences and ensure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute toward our mission, and able to progress in their careers.
