Talent Management / Employee Relations Specialist The Talent Management / Employee Relations Specialist provides essential operational and administrative support to Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and Employee Relations (ER) Specialists. This role supports a wide range of human resources activities, including employee relations intake, corrective action tracking, compliance reporting, separations support, and regulatory documentation. The Specialist ensures accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company policies and applicable legal requirements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Talent Management Support

Serve as the first point of intake for employee performance management and employee relations matters, escalating issues as appropriate.

Provide day-to-day support to HRBPs and ER Specialists related to employee relations activities and documentation.

Assist with employee relations hearings and related preparation.

Track, report on, and conduct quality assurance reviews of corrective action documentation (e.g., attendance, policy violations) to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Separations, Exit Management & Unemployment

Process voluntary termination requests and ensure completion of all required documentation.

Prepare severance agreements and supporting documentation.

Facilitate exit interviews for supervisors and below, and occasionally managers or equivalent roles.

Document exit interview findings, prepare trend and issue reports, and elevate concerns when appropriate.

Administer unemployment claims and manage related documentation.

Compliance, Reporting & Risk Management

Monitor labor law changes and ensure timely updates to required labor law posters, disclosures, and annual compliance notifications.

Support Compliance Accuracy initiatives, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) processes.

Perform Form I-9 reverifications in compliance with federal requirements.

Administer and coordinate annual SOC 2 reporting.

Produce CMS reports annually and on an ad hoc basis, as requested.

Systems, Documentation & Reporting

Oversee and administer DocuSign workflows, including user access management.

Support HRBP survey requests and reporting needs.

Administer corporate policies, ensuring proper version control and organization-wide distribution.

Complete weekly Equifax reporting.

Prepare and distribute monthly background screening reports and associate sales reports.

Projects & General Support

Provide project support for HR, Employee Relations, and Talent Management initiatives, as needed.

Administer Kenexa job evaluation documentation, ensuring version control from draft through final composites.

Manage the HR Job Code mailbox.

Provide quarterly compensation survey support, including job code coordination.

Support compensation surveys as needed.

Provide administrative support for officer transactions (hire, promotion, termination), coordinating deliverables across impacted HR teams.

Administer all non-compete agreements, including periodic audits of existing agreements.

Prepare enhanced non-compete calculations for severance packages.

Provide project support for FLSA initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2–4 years of human resources experience, with exposure to employee relations, compliance, or HR operations.

Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements.

High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with HR systems, document management tools (e.g., DocuSign), and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

Experience supporting Employee Relations or HR Business Partner functions.

Familiarity with SOC 2, CMS reporting, unemployment administration, and labor law compliance.

HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
