Porter may assist or perform minor grounds activities & maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities
Prevention of unnecessary waste loss, & damage to resident’s belongings
Porter performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment & supplies
Porter will clean, sanitize, & maintains assigned areas within the facility including resident areas
Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities &/or based on seasonal/project requirements including floors (sweeping, mopping, etc.) by various means including dusting, vacuuming, & polishing
Porter reports needs & concerns to appropriate staff
Ensures proper care in the use & maintenance of equipment & supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety & environmental practice
Refreshing bath area by cleaning toilet, & sinks; refilling h& towel & toilet paper dispensers
Keeping supplies ready by restocking & sorting housekeeping supplies
Troubleshooting minor breakdowns; maintaining supplies; calling for repairs
Remove soiled linens & empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors &/or dumpsters for proper disposal
Requirements
Some high school education, required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience working in maintenance, porter, janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping position preferred
Healthcare experience a huge plus
Excellent customer service skills
Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff
Must have a working knowledge of housekeeping techniques & sanitation
Ability to follow written & verbal instructions required
