MOLLIE ASPEN is a 68-room boutique hotel that occupies a prime location on Paepcke Park in the heart of Aspen, Colorado. Designed by award-winning studio Post Company, MOLLIE's interiors are subtly inspired by the Aspen tradition of being firmly grounded while gazing abroad – a seamless blend of understated luxury and residential comfort. The property holds a quiet confidence and commitment to a reduction of excess with interiors that thoughtfully utilize innovative materials from Aspen and the wider Western region, accentuated with natural woods, earthen ceramics, and hand-dyed textiles. Position Summary
The Director of Sales at MOLLIE Aspen is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for driving revenue growth and positioning the hotel as a premier luxury destination in Aspen. This role leads all sales efforts, including group, transient, catering and direct booking strategies, while partnering cross-functionally with revenue management, marketing, and operations to optimize performance across all channels. The Director of Sales cultivates key client relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and ensures seamless execution of the guest experience, aligning sales initiatives with the brand’s winning design-forward, and service-driven standards.

Schedule: M-F
Pay Rate: $125,000-$150,000 DOE; up to 20% bonus eligible
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall sales strategy to drive revenue across group, transient, and catering segments.
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities aligned with the hotel’s positioning and revenue goals.
- Establish and implement segment-specific sales plans to maximize market share and profitability.
- Continuously evaluate market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns to inform proactive sales strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain high-value relationships with key clients, including travel advisors, meeting planners, corporate accounts, and strategic partners.
- Act as the primary sales ambassador for the property, representing MOLLIE Aspen in the marketplace through networking, events, and direct outreach.
- Negotiate contracts and close high-value group and catering business.
- Build long-term partnerships that drive repeat and referral business.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Manager and Catering Sales Event Manager to achieve individual and team revenue goals.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and ongoing training to elevate sales effectiveness.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture aligned with the brand’s service and experience standards.
- Own and deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, including group and catering revenue targets.
- Monitor sales pace, conversion, and production to ensure alignment with budget and forecast.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, including performance insights and action plans.
- Drive initiatives that increase direct bookings and reduce reliance on third-party channels.
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion across all sales touchpoints, including inquiries, proposals, and client interactions.
Requirements
- Must be results-oriented and able to convey data-based information and ideas clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including identifying, anticipating, preventing, and solving problems as necessary.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge including Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Enthusiasm and passion for hotel sales and guest service; the ability to connect with people over the phone and in person.
- Familiar with hotel PMS and Sales systems.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience preferred. Revenue and reservations management a plus.
- A 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major preferred.
- In-depth understanding of tools‑ spreadsheets, statistical methods for analyzing data preferred.
- Ability to use PMS, reservation and revenue management systems to forecast and implement optimal strategies.
- Ability to lead a team effectively.
- Familiarity with Resort Hotel seasonality, preferably in a ski resort environment.
