Senior Director, Hospital Operations collaborates on strategic planning, developing goals and objectives, and priority setting for areas supporting emergent care, transport, and patient transitions. Accountability for strategic vision implementation that achieves optimal patient flow across the care continuum. The role assumes 24‑hour accountability for delivery of professional care and resource allocation within the assigned areas. Partners with multidisciplinary teams and oversees transport and patient flow metrics, productivity/outcome measures, and adherence to professional practice standards. Cultivates a culture that exemplifies professional practice and fosters future leaders.
Accountable for planning, development, provision, and continuous improvement of services within emergency, transportation, mission control, dialysis/apheresis, and wound care departments. Plans, implements, and evaluates services to ensure sustained improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety, engagement, and family experience across assigned clinical sites.
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing; may be substituted with a Master’s in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field provided the candidate also possesses a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing. Candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program must complete the program within three years while maintaining solid performance.
- Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in a health‑care setting.
Required Credentials
- Current Washington State or Multistate (MSL) RN license.
- Documentation of a Master’s in Nursing (or relevant Masters) and Bachelor’s in Nursing upon hire.
- Nursing or healthcare‑related professional board certification in a clinical specialty area or leadership on hire or within three (3) years thereafter, recognized by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) and approved by Seattle Children’s.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) acceptable in lieu of BLS. Employees responsible for costs of PALS or PEARS if not required.
- ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute.
Preferred
- Clinical experience in a pediatric setting.
- Knowledge of and experience using lean principles in healthcare.
Compensation Range
$249,620.00 - $374,430.00 per year
Salary Information
Calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise and may vary within the provided range.
