BioMed Realty, L.P. is looking for a strategic, hands‑on leader to shape how we reward, recognize, and support our people. As Director, Total Rewards, you’ll have the opportunity to build and evolve compensation and recognition programs, elevate our HR technology, and deliver insights that enable and drive business performance within a fast‑moving commercial real‑estate environment.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer and serving on the People & Culture Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in aligning rewards strategy with company growth, ensuring our programs are effective, competitive, equitable, scalable and aligned to business goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and lead a forward‑thinking total rewards strategy that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent.
  • Design and continuously refine compensation structures and programs to stay competitive and aligned with business goals.
  • Partner closely with Finance to lead the annual compensation cycle, including planning, execution, and communication.
  • Use market data and insights to guide pay decisions, ensuring fairness and competitiveness across the organization.
  • Build and manage incentive programs that connect individual and company performance to meaningful rewards.
  • Deliver clear, actionable reporting and insights to leadership on compensation trends, budgets, and pay equity.
  • Champion compliance and best practices across all rewards programs.
  • Bring total rewards to life by creating tools, resources, and training that help employees understand and value their full rewards package.
  • Lead the strategy and evolution of HR technology, driving smarter, more efficient processes through automation and innovation.
  • Oversee HR systems and ensure they are optimized, integrated, and delivering accurate, meaningful data and performance reporting.
  • Partner across teams to improve workflows, enhance data visibility, and support better decision‑making across the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to expand system capabilities and explore new technologies, including AI.

What You Bring

  • A strong strategic orientation combined with the ability to execute and deliver results.
  • Deep expertise in compensation and total rewards, including knowledge of market practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Solid business acumen and an understanding of how rewards strategy supports organizational performance.
  • Experience leading and optimizing HR systems (e.g., UKG, Workday, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships across teams and leadership levels.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information succinctly.
  • High integrity and sound judgment in handling confidential information.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of HR experience, including leadership in compensation and HR systems.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing compensation and rewards programs.
  • Experience leading HR technology initiatives, including system implementations and integrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting skills, able to synthesize data into insights.
  • Industry experience in commercial real estate, financial services, life sciences, or related sectors is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, use of AI and related tools.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Certifications such as CCP, SHRM‑CP/SCP, or HRIS platform credentials are a plus.

Compensation

$180,000 – $220,000 per year + bonus + benefits.
