
Credit Specialist (Minneapolis)

Advent Talent Group is seeking a Credit Specialist for a growing organization to support credit evaluation, order release, and collections for a select group of B2B customers. This role partners closely with internal teams to balance customer relationships with sound risk management, improve cash flow, reduce Days Sales Outstandin, and minimize bad debt. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, communication skills, and a proactive, service‑oriented approach to credit and collections.

ASAP start – 3 months Pay Rate:
$20-24/hour Location:
Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid Hours:
Full time, Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities Review and release customer orders pending credit approval, managing credit holds to support timely fulfillment and cash flow Manage B2B collections efforts by monitoring AR aging, following up on past‑due balances, and recommending appropriate escalation when needed Evaluate customer creditworthiness by processing credit applications, reviewing credit reports and trade references, and establishing or adjusting credit limits Serve as the primary point of contact for payment‑related inquiries, disputes, and short payments, identifying root causes and driving resolution Partner closely with Sales, Customer Operations, and internal teams to resolve payment issues and support ongoing customer relationships Maintain accurate customer records in ERP and e‑commerce systems, including credit limits, tax documentation, and AP contact information Support audit requests, reporting needs, and special projects, escalating system or process issues as appropriate
Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ year of experience in an accounting, credit, or accounts receivable environment Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Intermediate Excel skills Preferred:
Experience working in an ERP environment
